Guiyang online govt service platform better serves locals

Guiyang has made great effects in the deep integration and practical application of big data and government services, since its all-in-one online government service platform was officially launched in September last year, according to local officials.

The platform is connected with various government departments and provides 1,270 government affairs services at municipal level, which means that all of Guiyang's government business can be handled online. A total of 100 once-complex processes now require applicants to hand in application materials only once, thanks to the platform.

Statistics showed that by the end of 2019, more than 1.15 million items of government affairs were handled through the platform.

Officials said that a WeChat applet called Digital and Smart Guiyang was linked to the platform. With this, residents are able to handle 77 affairs in the fields of government and people's daily lives, such as settling Medicare expenses and withdrawals from the housing provident fund.

The WeChat applet has signed up 196,000 users, and approximately 2.26 million affairs are being handled on it.

Officials said the online government services platform and the WeChat applet have greatly improved the efficiency of government services and brought convenience to all the resident in Guiyang.
