The Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province held an important working meeting on March 21 that aimed to consolidate and extend the development of big data in the region.

The total scale of the big data industry in Guian New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province reached 42.3 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent, according to the big data office of Guian New Area on April 13.
The Tenth Guiyang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China held its fifth plenary session, at which time it was decided that Guiyang is to do all possible to promote high-quality opening-up, boost the real economy, and accelerate high-quality economic development.
