Li Bingjun, governor of Guizhou province – located in southwestern China – reportedly inspected big data development in the provincial capital of Guiyang on July 9.

He visited the Guizhou Big Data Exhibition Center in Guiyang to learn about the development of the big data industry, as well as to view typical examples of big data applications.

In addition, many questions concerning data security, data integration, data development and applications and resource integration were discussed.

Afterwards, a symposium covering the topic of developing the digital economy was held, which attracted the participation of experts from big data companies and research institutes.

Big data has served as one of business calling cards of Guizhou, but it is said to require much more action to promote its innovation and integration with the wider economy.

Governor Li said Guiyang needed to unswervingly promote big data and grasp the new opportunities arising from the digital economy.

In addition to boosting digital industrialization and attracting more top people, Guiyang plans to continue to improve its social governance and create a better environment in terms of policies, capital and security.
