The national big data engineering lab in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently approved as a national engineering research center by National Development and Reform Commission.
In 2021, National Development and Reform Commission evaluated 350 national engineering research centers and national engineering labs.
Guiyang's national big data engineering lab, which is designed to improve government's governance ability, was listed among the top 191 national engineering research centers for its success in serving national strategies, promoting industrial development and enhancing lab operation.
Established in 2017, the lab is located in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. In recent years, the lab has promoted integrating innovation chains and industrial chains, helping government departments guarantee cyber security, and contributing to the modernization of social governance's system and ability.
In the future, the lab will try to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies, commercialize major scientific research results, promote the coordinated development of national and regional governance ability, and contribute to Guizhou's big data and digital economy development.
