"Unlocking the New Equation of Meteorological Data Value", a Meteorological Data Valuation Series White Paper, was officially released at the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Nov 7.
The Meteorological Data Valuation Series White Papers consist of three series. It is the first white paper on meteorological data asset value assessment in the country, and provides an overview of cost value, benefit value, space-time value and asset evaluation.
The newly-released paper was jointly compiled by the Guiyang Big Data Exchange, PricewaterhouseCoopers China, and the Guizhou Provincial Meteorological Information Center under the guidance of the Guizhou Provincial Big Data Development Administration and Guizhou Provincial Meteorological Bureau.
In order to comprehensively improve the definition and classification of meteorological data assets, the newly-released paper divides meteorological data assets into basic data assets and service data assets, which can be further subdivided into raw data, product data, forecast data and service data.
Chen Wei, executive director of Guiyang Big Data Exchange, said that the Guiyang Big Data Exchange has launched a series of industry data zones including meteorological data.
After half a year of operation, the meteorological data zone has completed a transaction volume of more than 6 million yuan, providing a high-quality trading environment for the circulation and trading of meteorological data.
Moving forward, the Guiyang Big Data Exchange will continue to build an industrial ecosystem of meteorological data involving supply, intermediary, demand, circulation and trading, continue to explore the application of meteorological data, cultivate the awareness of meteorological data market value and trading habits, and stimulate the potential of the meteorological data circulation trading market.
