Guizhou to upgrade big data development

Southwest China's Guizhou province aims to upgrade big data development by reforming its digital industry, digital integration, digital infrastructure, digital governance and digital ecosystem, according to a news conference held on Nov 8.

In recent years, Guizhou has seen rapid growth in its digital economy due to its designation as China's first national big data comprehensive pilot area. The growth rate of its digital economy has been the highest in the country for seven years in a row.

Guizhou has continued to promote the integration of digital economy and real economy, so as to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. To date, Guizhou has launched 409 benchmarking integration projects and 4,326 demonstration projects, and helped 9,217 companies start big data integration.

It has also offered 350 training sessions for more than 16,000 companies, and helped more than 25,000 companies use cloud services.

As the first big data exchange in China, the Global Big Data Exchange in Guiyang is taking full advantage of the value of data and data circulation. So far, the exchange has 390 companies offering 495 data products, and has closed 108 deals with a total transaction of 163.98 billion yuan ($22.64 billion).

After being approved as one of the eight hub nodes of the national integrated computing power network, Guizhou has been actively participating in the "Eastern Data and Western Computing" project by setting development goals and attracting project investments.

In the future, Guizhou will focus on big data and computing power to become an innovation area for the development of the digital economy.

By 2025, the added value of Guizhou's digital economy is expected to increase significantly, and the growth rate is expected to continue to lead the country. It is also expected to become a hub of computing power support and data element circulation.
