The Global Big Data Exchange in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recently authorized by the China National Object Identifier Registration Center to become the first industrial node registered as a data element registration object identifier (OID).

An OID is globally recognized as a unique numeric value issued to identify an object.

Data element registration is the basis to support the rights confirmation, circulation, distribution and governance of data elements, and is an important measure to promote the implementation of the market-oriented allocation reform in data elements.

The Global Big Data Exchange has focused on the equity attributes, asset attributes and circulation attributes of data elements. It has learned to overcome the difficulties in data element rights confirmation through construction models and the experience of other production element registration systems.

It aims to protect the legal rights of all participants in the process of data production, circulation and utilization. In addition, it aims to better serve China's national data element circulation and trading system.

The Global Big Data Exchange will cooperate with think tanks from the China National Object Identifier Registration Center to explore new models of data property registration, establish and improve the data registration mechanism, build a technical standard system for data element registration, and build a data element registration OID service platform.

It will provide data product registration, data asset registration, data transaction registration and other services to the whole country, and explore the construction of a national integrated data element registration system.
