Guiyang tirelessly promotes digital economy development

Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province, as a city with the most big data pilot programs and demonstrations in the country, has been devoted to big data innovation in the region.

In 2022, Guiyang's cloud service industry achieved a business revenue of over 53.9 billion yuan ($7.53 billion), marking a remarkable 166.5 percent year-on-year growth. Additionally, the city welcomed an additional 572 market entities in the big data sector, totaling an impressive 5,670.

By May, Guiyang and Guian New Area boasted more than 176 internet-related services, software, and information technology enterprises at or above the designated scale, generating total revenue in excess of 25.6 billion yuan.

The information technology service industrial cluster in Guiyang was also selected as one of the first strategic emerging industry clusters at the national level.

Guiyang and Guian are also empowering the development of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, and agricultural modernization with big data, and facilitating the digital and intelligent transformation of industrial enterprises.

In recent years, Guiyang and Guian have encouraged companies to adopt cloud services. As of this May, they had implemented a total of 1,602 integration demonstration projects, driving over 3,460 real economy entities to integrate with big data.
