In order to promote the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing industry, as well as accelerate the construction of a green manufacturing and service system, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced the list of leaders in green manufacturing for the year 2023.
One of the names that made it on the list is Gui'an Free Trade Zone (Gui'an FTZ), which was recognized as a "green industrial park."
In recent years, Gui'an FTZ has been approved as a national demonstration base for new industrialization, a pilot area of Guizhou's provincial low-carbon industrial park, and a green demonstration industrial park.
Gui'an FTZ has been successful in promoting the low-carbon industry and green development. The zone has focused on the development of industries such as big data, electronic information manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, and organic food production.
Currently, there are more than 100 companies located in the zone, including 30 enterprises above a designated size (those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more), 15 companies with an annual turnover exceeding 100 million yuan, and 18 high-tech enterprises.
In terms of energy conservation and carbon reduction, Gui'an FTZ has optimized its power supply structure, increased its proportion of green energy consumption, accelerated the construction of natural gas infrastructure, and established a demonstration distributed energy station adopting multienergy complementation system.
In terms of infrastructure and ecological environment protection, Gui'an FTZ has increased its environmental protection investment. It has introduced energy-efficient and new energy buses, promoted sponge city construction, built two sewage treatment plants, and implemented automatic monitoring systems for water quality, air quality, and noise levels.
In the effort to build a green manufacturing system, Gui'an FTZ has constructed green data centers with high standards, including seven national green data centers, one national-level green factory, and two provincial-level green factories.
