Since the beginning of the year, Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province have taken measures to accelerate innovation, according to a news conference on Dec 25.

The introduction of 23 large-scale data computing power centers has made the region one of the largest and most advanced in terms of domestic intelligent computing power.

The "Kejiyun" platform has been launched for trial operation. Its voucher system has integrated 71 service agencies and 617 voucher-receiving companies, issuing 24.54 million yuan ($3.36 million) in innovation vouchers.

A total of 17 major provincial science and technology projects have been approved. The region is also exploring the creation of a technology finance service that includes "one fund, one pool, one platform, one fund, and one security."

Efforts are underway to accelerate the development of the Qianling Science and Technology Innovation Fund. The "Guishangyi" platform launched 102 financial products in its "find fundings" section.

Guiyang and Gui'an also carried out initiatives to attract talent and help university graduates find jobs. Guiyang and Gui'an have 42,881 R&D personnel, accounting for 51.2 percent of the province's total. Additionally, 1,641 technical managers have been trained, representing 88.6 percent of the province's total.
