On Jan 20, Guizhou Tyre Co took the stage at the fifth annual Global Lighthouse Network Award Ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos to receive the prestigious "Lighthouse Factory" award.
This marks the first time a tire manufacturer from China and the province of Guizhou has received this esteemed recognition. The forum highlighted the significant challenges Guizhou Tyre Co faced in meeting its customers' diverse and customized order demands, which accounted for over 60 percent of their production. This required strict adherence to design, validation, and reliability standards.
Guizhou Tyre Co implemented more than 40 Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) solutions to accelerate product design and ensure consistent and stable output. These initiatives enhanced the agility and productivity of their manufacturing processes, ultimately reducing product defects by 57 percent, increasing labor productivity by 68 percent, and lowering inventory levels by 34 percent.
