Baiyun district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been at the forefront of urban innovation, creating 15-minute life circles that ensure essential services and amenities are conveniently accessible within a short walk or commute from residents' homes.
Central to this vision is the district's efforts to tackle parking difficulties, a common challenge in bustling urban areas. To address this, Baiyun has focused on high-traffic zones such as schools, parks, and commercial districts, as well as strategically planning and developing facilities to meet the growing needs of its population.
One notable project is the underground smart parking lot on Baiyun Road, near a pedestrian street and an underground shopping mall – areas renowned for their high foot traffic and dense vehicle flow. It integrates smart equipment, operations, monitoring, and management systems. People can now effortlessly park and retrieve vehicles using a mobile app or on-site terminals, enhancing overall efficiency.
The intelligent management system at this parking lot allows for real-time monitoring of parking spot usage. This capability ensures optimal resource allocation, minimizing wait times and reducing traffic congestion.
