RoboBus – the first autonomous minibus independently developed by PIX Moving in Southwest China's Guizhou province – has become an industry focal point. Featuring no cockpit, pedals, rearview mirrors, or steering wheel, it adopts a symmetrical design enabling bidirectional movement.
RoboBus is China's first low-speed autonomous minibus model with fully self-developed hardware and software that has passed the GB 7258-2017 standard inspection and obtained the Mandatory Safety Operation Test Report for Motor Vehicles.
The shuttle is equipped with an integrated perception system capable of accurately identifying and analyzing the surrounding environment, enabling safer driving decisions.
PIX Moving has implemented multiple backups and redundancy designs in steer-by-wire chassis, autonomous driving systems, and dispatching systems to enhance reliability and safety. For instance, the steer-by-wire chassis features a three-layer safety redundancy, ensuring basic functionality even under extreme conditions.
The cloud-based dispatching system developed by PIX Moving offers multiple functionalities to assist vehicle operators in effectively supervising operations. Despite its high level of automation, a professional vehicle safety operator remains onboard to safeguard passenger safety.
This June, RoboBus obtained public road testing licenses for Guiyang. Its core systems and key components also passed European ECE regulation certification and secured public road testing and operation licenses in Italy.
