Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was selected as a national pilot city for trusted data space innovation and development on July 17, according to the National Data Administration.
Being approved as one of China's first municipal trusted data spaces signifies that Guiyang has obtained national pilot qualifications in key areas such as public data authorization operations and data element marketization. This establishes a foundation for developing regional nodes in data circulation infrastructure.
Following project applications, expert evaluations, and public announcements, 63 projects were finalized for the 2025 pilot list, with 13 focusing on urban trusted data spaces.
Guizhou Big Data Group will enhance data element infrastructure, refine integrated data resource systems, and build urban data space technical systems compliant with trusted governance, resource interoperability, and value co-creation requirements.
The group will also develop innovative data products and service frameworks, foster a more dynamic industry ecosystem, drive the construction of Guiyang's diverse trusted data spaces, and contribute a replicable "Guiyang Example" for the development of the national data element market.
