Guizhou accelerates industrial digital transformation

Guizhou made steady progress in the digital transformation of its industrial sector in 2025, achieving solid advances in integrating information technology with industrial development.

By the third quarter of 2025, the province's integrated IT-industry development index had reached 63.5, up 3.4 points from the end of 2024, ranking 14th nationwide and second in western China, tied with Chongqing.

Over the past year, Guizhou focused on its "8+4" key industries, cultivating more than 50 typical application scenarios for industrial large models. The province built five advanced-level smart factories and one excellence-level smart factory, established 100 digital workshops, and supported the digital transformation of 1,200 industrial enterprises above a designated size.

The penetration rate of digital R&D and design tools rose to 81 percent, while the numerical control rate for key production processes reached 65.2 percent, up 1.8 and 2.4 percentage points, respectively, from the end of 2024.

For coordinated deployment, Guizhou issued annual work plans and held promotional meetings to ensure implementation. The province also jointly launched data intellectual property pilot programs, providing services to more than 1,000 enterprises and registering 786 data-related intellectual property rights.

In addition, five enterprises were included in the national 5G factory catalog, and Guiyang was selected as a national pilot city for new technological transformation in manufacturing.

The province completed intelligent and digital transformation assessments for 1,000 enterprises, added 1,262 enterprises to the integrated IT-industrial development evaluation system and 211 to smart manufacturing assessments, and selected 51 representative digital transformation cases.
