Gui'an secures 53 sci-tech innovation platforms at provincial level or above

As of Sept 17, Gui'an New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has secured approval for 53 science and technology innovation platforms at or above the provincial level.

In recent years, as part of its goal to become a provincial sci-tech innovation center, Gui'an has prioritized building high-caliber innovation hubs. These platforms support key local industries including digital intelligence, new energy batteries and materials, advanced equipment manufacturing, and specialty foods. Guided by practical industry needs, it has established laboratories, technology innovation centers, and industrial technology engineering centers.

These 53 platforms include five national-level and 48 provincial-level facilities. To help turn scientific breakthroughs into real-world applications, Gui'an has strengthened its incubation network. Today, the area boasts 23 incubation spaces housing 937 enterprises, alongside eight provincial tech-transfer and concept-validation platforms.

By Aug 31, Gui'an had registered 271 technology contracts totaling 4.84 billion yuan ($722.88 million) this year. The area also hosts regular tech-matching events, publishes supply-demand lists, and expands university-enterprise collaborations. By tapping academic resources from schools like Central South University and Guizhou University, these efforts are helping companies overcome technical hurdles and accelerate research commercialization.

Moving forward, Gui'an will continue to prioritize sci-tech innovation, driving the deep integration of research and industrial growth. It aims to build a nationally influential hub for digital-intelligence innovation, boosting its high-quality development.
